The Staff Team
Literacy Volunteers has a Staff Team of 7,
which looks after approximately 320 Volunteers and some 159 schools and helps,
on average, 1200 children per week.
Richard Wray,
the Service Director, is responsible for all aspects of the Charity on a
day-to-day basis. He reports to the Board of Trustees (elected from Members)
and also makes recommendations on policies and prepares reports for them.
Part of his role also includes the negotiation of funding arrangements with
both City and County Councils and other funding bodies.

Karen Ballinger is our Administrator and Richard’s deputy. Karen provides the
first point of office contact for all Volunteers and schools and is invaluable
to the smooth running of
Heather Brooksbank, is the principal
Trainer for the Charity and is also the Area Co-ordinator for South West Notts.
Supported by the respective Area Co-ordinators Heather runs courses at the
Denewood Centre and other locations across the County.

Sue Marriott
is our Development Worker and also Area Co-ordinator for
Rachel Morgan,
as well as being a Trainer in her own right and running courses as part of her
role, is also the Area Co-ordinator for the majority of the large City area and
all that entails.
Toni Edwards
is also a Trainer and the Area Co-ordinator for

Emma Collis joined us to help with the
increasing amount of administration the growth of our Charity brings. In 2009 she will undertake training for an
Area Co-ordinator’s role and will work alongside other members of the team in
the City.
